To start with a good introduction in Brasilian food, in the eve before our tour we met Luiz (our German-speaking tourist guide and assistant), his wife and his daughter in a Churrascaria for dinner.
The meat of the spit in all possible variations tasted excellently and the additions were plentiful.
Whether does food on the whole tour taste so well?
On 28.2.2007 we could start with a Cessna to 182 and our safety pilot Eduardo for our tour through Brazil from Jacarepagua airport. In Brazil private pilots need the Portuguese Radio Licence and the recognition of the Private Pilot Licence (lasts up to 6 months) to fligh without safety pilot.
After initial displeasure about these regulations, we enjoyed very fast the advantages of our saftey pilot Eduardo, we talked to him in English, unfortunately, the least Brazilians speak English.
Nevertheless, the Brazilians are very polite and friendly and they try to talk in any way (with hands and feet) to strangers.
There was no waiting on the airfields, no delays with the handling, refuelling,
flight schedules could be given up easily.
From other international flights a drawing off and a waiting of several hours and negotiating on the airports is known to us very well.
A relaxed flight during 2 weeks!
Rio de Janeiro from above (rightly called as the regional most nicely situated city of the world - between green hills and surrounded of beaches), along the Copacabana to Pão de Açúcar, flight around the Corcovado and further up the the nice beaches of Capo Frio and Búzios to Vilha Vehla for refuelling. The destination for this day was reached in the evening, Porto Seguro.
Sun, beach, sea purely - what we want more!
